Modern Slavery & Anti-Trafficking

Discreet Careers has zero tolerance for modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and sexual exploitation. This page explains the warning signs, how to report a concern, and where to get urgent, confidential help in the UK.

Last updated: 6 August 2026

In immediate danger? Call 999 now.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call the police on 999. For confidential advice at any time, call the Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline on 08000 121 700 (24 hours). You do not need to be certain — trained advisors will help you decide what to do.

1. Our Commitment

Discreet Careers is a recruitment-only platform. We connect adults with verified employers across the adult industry — we do not host adult content and we never facilitate exploitation.

We are committed to conducting our business in a way that prevents modern slavery and human trafficking, in line with the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Everyone on our platform must be over 18, acting freely, and free to leave any role at any time.

2. What Modern Slavery & Trafficking Mean

Modern slavery is the illegal exploitation of people for personal or commercial gain. It can affect anyone, of any background, and is often hidden. It includes:

  • Human trafficking — moving or recruiting someone through force, fraud or coercion for exploitation
  • Forced labour — being made to work through threats, debt, or without genuine, free consent
  • Sexual exploitation — being coerced, deceived or forced into sexual activity or services
  • Debt bondage — being told you must work to pay off a 'debt' you can never clear
  • Coercion or control — threats, isolation, or control of your money, documents or movement

Consent cannot be bought or coerced

Genuine consent must be freely given and can be withdrawn at any time. Anything obtained through force, threats, deception, debt or control of a person is exploitation — not consent.

3. Warning Signs in a Person

You might notice these signs in a candidate, a colleague, or someone you meet through work. One sign alone may be innocent — but several together are a reason to seek advice:

  • Someone else controls their money, phone, ID or travel documents
  • They can't freely leave their job, home or a situation
  • They seem coached, fearful, or a third party answers for them
  • Wages are unpaid, withheld, or paid to someone else
  • They owe a 'debt' for travel, accommodation or a job they can't pay off
  • Signs of physical control, injury, neglect or being watched
  • They live and work at the same address, or in overcrowded conditions
  • They are reluctant to give details, or their story keeps changing

4. Warning Signs in a Job or Employer

Exploitation often starts with a recruitment offer. Be cautious of any job — on this platform or anywhere else — that shows these red flags:

  • Guaranteed, unrealistic earnings with no clear role or duties
  • Upfront fees for training, a 'visa', travel, accommodation or the job itself
  • Requests to hold your passport, ID or bank cards
  • Accommodation or travel tied to the job as a debt you must repay
  • Pressure to decide instantly, travel urgently, or keep it secret
  • Vague or unverifiable employer, or contact only via untraceable channels

A legitimate employer never asks for upfront fees, never holds your identity documents, and never ties your freedom to a debt.

5. How to Report a Concern

If something doesn't feel right, report it. You do not need proof, and you can report on behalf of someone else.

  • On the platform — use Report a Concern, or the report option on any job or employer profile
  • To our team — contact us directly; every report is handled confidentially
  • To the authorities — for anything involving immediate risk or a possible crime (see the numbers below)

7. What We Do When You Report

Every report of suspected slavery, trafficking or exploitation is treated as a priority. When we receive one, our trained safety team will:

  • Review it urgently and escalate it to a senior safety lead
  • Preserve the relevant records and evidence securely
  • Take protective action on any account involved (suspension, removal, verification)
  • Cooperate fully with the police and other UK authorities where lawful
  • Put the safety and wishes of the person at risk first, and keep your report confidential

8. Preserving Evidence Safely

If it is safe to do so, keeping a record helps the authorities act. Never put yourself at risk to gather evidence.

  • Do not confront the person you suspect of exploiting someone
  • Take screenshots of messages, job ads or profiles before they can be deleted
  • Note dates, times, names, locations and what was said
  • Keep any documents, receipts or 'contracts' you were given
  • Don't delete your own messages or booking history

9. Support for Survivors

If you have experienced exploitation, help is available and you are not to blame. The Modern Slavery Helpline (08000 121 700) and the Salvation Army referral line (0800 808 3733) can arrange confidential support, safe accommodation and advocacy, regardless of your immigration status. In an emergency, always call 999.

10. Our Legal Obligations

We support the aims of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and take a risk-based approach to preventing exploitation across our platform — through age and identity checks, employer verification, content moderation and staff training. We keep these measures under review and will cooperate with any lawful request from UK law enforcement.

11. Contact Us

For any question about this page or to raise a concern privately, contact our team. If a person is in immediate danger, always call 999 first.

Reporting a concern could protect someone from harm. Every report is handled confidentially by our safety team.
